Sew and Tell

It's been so long since I've done a sew and tell! I'm coming in just under the wire, as it's nearly 11 pm. Oh, and Mini-me is awake. Her ear hurts.
This was the muslin for Gail's wedding dress. Sadly, it didn't fit. Her wedding is just around the corner, so instead of going out and getting the pattern with the next sizes in it, she is opting to find her dress in a store. It reminds me of the Friends episode where Monica learns her parents have spent all the money meant for her wedding on a trip and a home gym, since they never thought she would get married. While she and Rachel try to economize their plans, Rachel starts to cry and says, "It's okay. You can wear off the rack." Hilarious.

I am almost caught up on the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along. I did three of the blocks this week. I have one left and then I'm caught up. Then the new one comes out on Monday and I'll probably be behind again.
This one, while it looks so pretty, gave me the most trouble. One day, I would like to learn to read.
I love this block. I already have fabric set aside to do a whole quilt out of this one.
I had to unpick seams with this one. I have no idea where my seam ripper is, so imagine how fun it was. So fun.

Now go on over to Amy's blog and check out the other finishes this week!

*EDIT -- I just saw that the new block was posted this past Monday. Yup, way behind!

Ouch about the wedding dress. Keep repeating, "Everything will work out fine. The day is going to be beautiful no matter what." Your quilting blocks look great! Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o)

I remember that episode! Everything happens for a reason and I'm sure she is going to look beautiful in the end. I also have the same problem with patterns. I have to read them over a few times to get it. The blocks are looking great. I especially like the last one.

Your blocks are coming along nicely. I still haven't done the last one either. I think I will try and do it today. How good are the patterns????

Beautiful blocks! My grandma always told me to just toss the instructions and do it without - she said there wasn't anything out there I couldn't figure out how to make! (I'm not sure she was always right about this but I have been able to figure stuff out most of the time!)

Nice work on those blocks...don't feel bad, I have only finished two of them. :( Too busy being a grandma! :)

Your blocks are very pretty. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I couldn't locate my seam ripper. I think I use it more than my toothbrush.
