I finally finished Patch's Cars quilt this week. He was very excited, although not thrilled with my thread choice. I used a black/grey variegated thread, and he thought it made Lightning "dirty." Oh well.
And here is the back. Can I share a secret? My least favorite part of quilting is piecing the back. Ugh. Such big pieces of fabric. So impossible to iron. Not to mention the fact that I never get them square (which means even sides).

I know what you mean about the quilt backs! This quilt looks great.
What a fun quilt! You did a great job on this.
What an adorable quilt. You did a great job!
I love seeing quilts for boys!
you go!
Such an dorable quilt for a little boy. I'm with you about the backing. I too find it really hard to get it straight and keep it straight while quilting.
Such a fun quilt! I love the boarders and I think the thread choice was a good one. Great job!
Good job! Sorry your little lights weren't twinkling...
Cute! Boys are hard to quilt for. I love the Cars. My son would adore this. Great job!
this is a great boy's quilt.... i love it
Very cute. I have a 4yo boy who loves Lightning too. What wonderful observation by your son that Lightning looks dirty. Love it.
Tooo Cute!
What a fun bright quilt! My nephews are crazy about Cars - they'd love one of these!
This turned out great--sometimes surprises are easier, aren't they? The recipient then has no vote (does it sound as if I have 2 boys?). He will love it even with grey quilting. The back looks nice anyhow :)
Ugh - the back! I understand why people use sheets. Why don't I? Great looking quilt - congrats on the finish!
One word: Ka-chow!
I really like the black and white checks in the back, what a perfect combo (even if it was a pain to piece)
I love it...the front and the back. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jana,
Thank you for visiting and leaving the kind comment. I am a mother of a one year old... so, it's nice to be connected with young mothers who sew and quilt! :)
Cute quilt, by the way! :) Perfect for a little boy.
