I got the fabric from Jina and Cindy at Riley Blake back in October. We visited the home office with Amanda and were invited to pick a Rolie Polie and "do something with it." Candice and I both chose Daisy Cottage, which has a wonderful mix of pink, gray, and yellow.
For the sashing, Amanda suggested a Riley Blake solid called "Pina Colada." Sing with me now "If you like pina coladas, and something something in the rain!" It's my new favorite solid and I have since ordered it from a couple of my
For the back I used a polka dot from Amanda's first line, Sweet Divinity. The binding is done in a print from 1001 Peeps. This quilt is pretty ginormous for a baby quilt. It's nearly 50" square. I love big baby quilts. Babies don't stay little for long, and it's nice to have something they can use as they get bigger.
I delivered it to my mom yesterday, who will deliver it to the mama-to-be. I am so excited for her to get it, as it's a complete surprise. Her mother, who was a dear friend of my mother, passed away this past fall. Making a baby quilt for a new mom whose own mother has passed away is the exact thing her mother would have done. She was a great example of service. I am 99.9% certain my friend doesn't read this blog, so it's safe to share it before she gets it. For those of you who know her -- don't spill the beans!

It's just beautiful! I still need to make my project with my fabric. Argh! I really, really love what you made. It's just perfect!
Its a beauty Jana. There is doubt it will be loved and adored. I like bigger baby quilts too. They have a longer shelf life and much more useful for cubby houses.
